you can try this wayt to prevent lag on xbox live and improve connection speed. I used to have the wireless receiver too..i reverted back to ethernet cable. you just get less lag that way. Another thing for lag could be the game your playing(some are more than others), or if your playing online for instance on COD4 of Halo your host connection could be bad and therefore the whole room suffers. or you can get a router ,my friend use new router and its fast, no problems
