iPhone 3G Accelerometer problems
Jul 14th, 2008, under iphone 3g |iPhone 3G Accelerometer problems. my friend buy a new iphone 3g. When she click on iphone 3g Safari it rotates automatically to landscape mode. When she click on the calculator, it rotates to scientific mode. This happens regardless of the orientation. It will not display safari or calculator in portrait.
problems with the accelerometer on her iPhone 3g, as follows:
1) jerky (screen rotation not as fluid as on my 1st gen iphone)
2) sometimes seems to get “stuck” in portrait or landscape (doesn’t rotate appropriately when phone angle is shifted).
3) Sometimes screen rotates automatically counter-clockwise, even when the phone itself hasn’t moved. Resetting (holding home + on/off button til phone shuts down) seems to fix this temporarily, but it recurs a few minutes into beginning to use any app that uses accelerometer (camera/photos/safari).
at first she think may be the problems with a firmware issue or a hardware, after she talk with other iphone 3g owners, she found that some one have the same problem with iphone 3g accelerometer. so they take it to iphone store and replace a new iphone. now she solve it.
update- defective iphone….took it back to apple store for a swap.
