iTunes freezing up when plug iPhone 3G into computer
Jul 25th, 2008, under iphone music |iTunes freezing up hen plug iPhone 3G into computer. When I plug iPhone 3G into laptop, iTunes will automatically freeze up. However, as soon as I unplug the iPhone, iTunes becomes active again.
I try some ways to solve itunes crash problems. Unsuccessful steps include reseting the iPhone, restoring the iPhone, completely wiping and reinstalling iTunes (including the prefs), and an archive and restore of 10.5.4. Oddly the only thing that helps is to delete my song files from the iPhone. Or to just install a small number of song files. My songs are just routine MP3s and AACs from my own iTunes rips, from Apple. They all play find on my 80 GB fifth generation iPod. I assume that this is the same problem iPod touch owners are reporting with iTunes 7.7.

There is one “solution” that I know of. Just let the beach ball spin in iTunes for about 3-4 minutes. Eventually, the iPhone will show up in the device menu and you can sync it or do whatever. The problem will recur every time you plug it in. Not fun.
the another good way to rebuilt iTunes database without Apps and everything works nicely.
Delete Apps from iTunes (keep files)
Quit itunes.
Move itunes folder to desktop.
Start iTunes, which creates new folder.
Copy Music, Apps, Games folders back into your new iTunes folder.
In iTunes go to file > Import, locate your original XML file and rebuild the database.
Try syncing to solve your itunes freezing up problems
