Are there any old school nintendo games, like mario brothers, for nintendo wii? I love the old school nintendo games. I was wondering if anyone knew of any similar games like those for the wii, or if those oldschool games are available on the wii?

You may download past games on the Wii’s “Virtual Console” in the Shop Channel, provided you have a wireless router or the Ethernet Adapter. You buy them with “points” being purchased with a credit card on the Shop Channel in increments of 1000 ($10), 2000 ($20), 4000 ($40) and 5000 ($50) or 2000 Point Cards from retailers such as Wal*Mart or GameStop.

NES games are 500 points, TurboGrafx16 are 600, SNES and Genesis are 800, NEOGEO are 900 and N64 games run at 1000 points. There are a few “import” games that were released in Japan only, but are 200 or 300 points more (example: NES are 800 and N64 are 1200).

They are continually releasing games on the VC every Monday at around noon, up to 3 or 4 at a time, though lately it has been 1 or 2. You may find a list on Nintendo’s Official Site:

Other consoles may be added, such as the TurboGrafx CD and Commodore 64.

you can also you download the old school games onto your wii if you can hook your wii up to the internet. Go to the shopping channel and take a look on there, you’ll see all sorts of older games that were for the Nes, SNES, N64, Sega and Turbo-Grafix
